VSTpro - Heikin ashi TEMA average cross over.

The VSTpro is an excellent way of testing different trading strategies giving an almost instant visual picture of the results.

The following charts display the test results for the "Heikin ashi TEMA average cross over" as described at this website http://stocata.org/metastock/ha_tema.html.

Using the VSTpro or the free VST custom Strategy it is possible to test systems/indicators that you may come across while browsing the web.

The chart above is for the S&P/ASX 200 Materials Sector (XMJ).
The two averages are set to 72 periods.
Chart above is zoomed out to display the Profit Indicator.

Chart above is using the "Heikin ashi TEMA average cross over" with no Market Trend Filtering
and the results show the true value of the MFT in the VSTpro.

Chart above is using only the Market Trend Filter to generate the entry/exit signals. The results are excellent. The MFT is a valuable part of the VSTpro.

It only required a short amount of time to alter the default parameters and improve the results.

The chart above is zoomed out displaying 2000 data periods.

The chart above demonstrates the value of the Market Trend Filter.

With the MTF turned OFF the results are very average when compared to the first charts.

Bongo Strategy

The VSTpro is kept up to date by Jose Silva with new strategies added on a regular basis.

The latest update is the "Bongo Strategy" and further information is available by visiting this link http://forum.equis.com/forums/thread/34009.aspx Just look for the posts by Henry.

The chart above is the same stock as in the previous post "Fine tuning the VSTpro".
Compare the "Bongo Strategy" to the "VST".

Fine tuning the VSTpro

The chart above is using the VSTpro long "Optimization" template with the "Market Trend Filter" set to "Sharp". This forces an over-ride by the "MTF" rather than using the optimization process for the MTF indicator.

The chart above is using the VSTpro "Long" template and has been fine tuned by adjusting the "Band Spread" and the "Bands Midline".

Please note of the results of these changes by viewing the image below.

Small changes can make a significant difference to the results.

There is pure gold in the VSTpro and you don't have to dig too deep.
